Buying a pet is a big step and there are many things you must look at before taking the step of bringing one home.

Do you have any experience with the type of pet you are wanting to buy.

With most types of pets the cost does not stop at buying it. You will have to have them vaccinated, wormed, chipped, de-flead, buy beds, toys and food all this costs money and cannot be put off until next month.

Do you have friends or family with the same breed?
Where did they get it from?

When buying a puppy or kitten always see the mother or both parents is even better.
Never buy a pet in a car park, always go to the advertisers home/kennels/cattery/stables.
Look at the health of the animal.
Does it look healthy, is it playful ?
Look at the conditions it is kept in.
Is it clean and the premises well kept.
Are you 100% happy with the conditions.
If not do not buy.
Do not buy an animal because you feel sorry for it. 

Puppy Farms are becoming a problem in the UK and are money orientated. Puppies are in great demand and unscrupulous dealers based abroad and in the UK are making large sums of money selling pets that are most of the time unhealthy and disease ridden.
